Project Details

OurCard is a small local startup in Buford, GA that partners directly with local businesses to offer visitors special offers. Customers present their free OurCard Card and receive a free appetizer, discounts on their auto service, or any promotion to help generate business.

Our biggest challenge was to provide an automated way for OurCard to allow users to opt-in to their region’s email newsletter and receive weekly deals. The managers of OurCard had very little web knowledge and didn’t want to hire a full-time HTML developer. What we did was utilize the API at MailChimp to automatically register users for their region when they opted-in as well as dynamically generate the newsletters from our administrative backend. All the OurCard owners had to do was provide the copy for the newsletter, and it would be generated automatically.

Dead Simple User Panel

We focused on keeping the user panels very simple so that businesses could easily manage their contact information and current deals.

Automagic Newsletter Generation

Newsletters generated through MailChimp's API automatically when seeded with some very basic content saving owners significant costs.

Dynamic mapping

Users were presented with auto-generated maps based on the company’s physical address.

Specialty Advertising

Businesses could pay extra to appear at the top of the search results, on the homepage hero, or in various advertising locations.
