Project Details

Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia is a Nashville-based commune that wished to use the Internet as a tool to help spread the Gospel and reach out to young women seeking the monastic lifestyle.  The site features information about Catholic prayers, a day in the life of a sister, and ways you can donate to the Congregation of St. Cecilia through their donation system or by purchasing a book or audio CD.  The site features over 150 pages of information that delves deep into the congregation, it’s history, and information about the Catholic faith.

Unique Content Management System

One of the fantastic skills that the sisters brought to the table was their fantastic photography and Photoshop skills. We built the system on from scratch with CakePHP with the ability to manage every image and piece of copy.

The sisters had a non-profit merchant account that they needed to maintain to keep overhead down and maximize their revenues from fundraising products like CDs and books. We built a solution that allows them to manage their catalog while using a merchant account that doesn't have any eCommerce support. (Take our word for it: it was difficult.)
